She don’t play!
There is nothing more exciting than watching someone you care about succeed and better themselves. As a coach, family member or friend, there is something very special about witnessing someone grow in and out of the gym in a way that inspires others. That’s why we are honoring our girl, Janie, for Swink’s July Member of the Month!
Janie started at Swink last September and she has missed few days since then! She and her husband of almost 12 years (fellow Swinker, Chris) live in Cedar Hill with their son, Ibrahim/”E.” They have more “pets” than most (32 total!) including ducks, horses and a cat named Krunchie. By day, Janie is a realtor with Ebby Halliday, but come 4:30pm, you’ll find her throwing around weights and kicking ass at Swink.
Janie has really impressed us this month by going outside her comfort zone and trying new things for the Nutrition Challenge. She serves as a great example of what challenging yourself can do! She has come so far since September, no doubt due to her commitment and determination to improvement. We are proud of you, Janie!
Here is a little more from our July MOM:
Doing her favorite movement.
What’s your favorite thing about Swink?
Swink without the people it attracts is just a building with gym equipment. The atmosphere Andre and the coaches create is my favorite thing about Swink. I love coming to workout, knowing we are all experiencing the same pain, yet we can all help cheer the other on.
What’s your favorite movement/workout?
I would say Power Cleans.
What’s your least favorite?
Pullups because I can’t do them. I would love to one day have enough strength to pull myself up unassisted.
What’s your favorite clean meal/snack?
Funny – I thought I was eating “semi” clean, until this nutrition Challenge. I was fooling myself. Anyway, in this challenge I learned many new clean meals – my favorite was the stuffed cabbage rolls!
What’s your favorite cheat meal?
What’s advice would you give someone new to Swink?
You will amaze yourself once you step out of your comfort zone! Keep coming – you will get better at the moves. And I’ve been here a year and I still can’t do Double Unders. 😆
The face you should be making when giving it your all!
